Correct Answers and Their Points

Correct Answers. Simple Answers and Answer Sets.

For now UniTest System supports 4 types of answers:

  1. Simple Answer: One or more correct answer and zero or more partially correct (in % of the correct) answers to the given question. You can select only one answer.
  2. Answer Set: The only correct answer to the question is the set of answers
  3. Ordered Answer Set: The only correct answer to the question is the ordered set of answers
  4. Association: The only correct answer to the question is the set of pairs (associations)

The answer type is set up using Question Type sub menu of the Question menu.

Working with Simple Answers

This is by default the answer type for all questions (first type).

To set a selected answer (clicking on it) as the correct answer, use Answer Confirmation toolbar (see Editor Toolbars). This toolbar is active when the question type is Simple Answer.

Answer Confirmation toolbar has:

  1. Correct Answer button to set the selected answer as the correct answer (to set answer as 100% correct);
  2. An input field for setting the confirmation factor (to set "partially correct" answers) for a particular answer. The confirmation factor is set up in percents. To set a selected answer as a "partially correct" answer, write its confirmation percentage in this input field;
  3. An input field for setting the number of points assigned to the correct answer on the current question.

Points for Correct Answer

Every question has its own points (marks) to be given to the correct answer. If the answer is partially correct, then points are PointsForTheCorrectAnswer*ConfirmationFactor/100.

Working with Set of Answers and Associations

The Combinations toolbar is used to select answers for the answer sets and associations (when the current question type is "Answer Set", "Ordered Answer Set" or "Association"). This toolbar is not active when question type is "Simple Answer".

This toolbar has:

  1. 20 checkboxes;
  2. Selected answer indicator;
  3. Answer accuracy input field.

If the question type is "Answer Set", then you only need to check the checkboxes that do correspond to the needed set of answers for the current question (first checkbox correspond to first answer, second - to second, etc.). It does no matter in what order you will do it.

If the question type is "Ordered Answer Set", then you need to check the checkboxes in the needed (correct) order.

If the question type is "Association", then you need to check the checkboxes by pairs (one item from first group and one from second group). If the question type is "Association", then checkboxes are divided into two groups. Just like an answers, items in one group are associations to items in another group.

It is hard to do a mistake when setting an answer, because the selected answer indicator always shows your the current selection.

The answer accuracy input field helps you to customize answer accuracy (i.e. you can allow to answer the question a little bit wrong. For example, the answer must be close to correct as much as 90%). Just enter the current question answer accuracy (in percents, but without % sign) in this input field.
